Veronica Travels to Cuba

Spanish teacher Veronica Guevara is traveling back to Cuba at the end of November. She will work on a sustainable community gardening project and a building restoration project at Itabo/Favorito in Matanzas.

Veronica will spend eight days in Cuba documenting daily life in Havana and in the countryside of Matanzas to share with her Spanish students. In addition to her work at Itabo/Favorito in Matanzas, she will visit Centro Martin Luther King-- to learn about its role in promoting nonviolence.  

Veronica will be bringing DVDs made by FSM 5th-8th graders about their first unit community projects to share with Cubans.  She will bring back videos of interviews and interactions with Cubans back to Minnesota to share with her classes.
