Evening Open Houses

Admissions open houses are great opportunities for the whole family to explore whether FSM would be a good academic and social fit for your child.

Open houses include a tour by current students or parents, a presentation about FSM’s curriculum and philosophy, a chance to visit classrooms and chat with teachers, staff and current parents.

Children’s activities are available so you can bring the whole family. No need to RSVP but you can send us your name and address and/or email to receive information about admissions events.

  • Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 6:30-8:30 p.m

Open house schedule:

  • 6:30-7:00 School tours by students and parents
  •  7:00-7:40 Information session in the multi-purpose room (child care available) 
  • 7:40-8:30 Visit classrooms, more tours, refreshments

Adult Tours  & Classroom Observations

School day visits are an essential part of choosing a school. Visits include a tour, classroom observations and a chance to talk with school staff.  They are the best way to see the school in action as you consider FSM for your child.

Visits are for adults only.  Children are welcome to attend the evening open houses and will visit during a school day as a part of the application process.

Tours are by appointment 9:30-11:30 a.m. on many Monday and Thursday mornings October through April. Contact Susan for an appointment at 651-621-8937 or by email.

Student Visits

If you apply and a mutual good fit seems likely, your child will come for an applicant visit or "shadow day"during the school day. During the visit, prospective students get to see what FSM is like and interact with staff and peers. We administer academic assessments and get to know your child. 

What Do They Do During Their Kindergarten Visit? (blog post)

  • All kindergarten applicants visit in small groups of other applicants for two hours on Wednesday, February 8, (9:15-11:15 a.m.) Thursday, February 23 (9:30-11:30am) or Saturday, February 25 (9:30-11:30am) 
  • First grade applicants visit for a morning in a classroom of their peers.
  • Second-Seventh grade applicants visit for a  full school day in a classroom of their peers.
